Peer Counselling
Peer counselling provides a confidential space for a person to express their feelings with a person who has shared experiences. It can make it possible to identify strengths, problems and feelings that might otherwise be overwhelming for the individual. Our member associations who offer these services include:
• Amputee Disability Federation of Ireland who offer a peer counselling service for new and established amputees in Ireland through volunteers who offer this through an informal visit. (http://www.amputee.ie/index.php/information/peer-support/)
• Amptraide who operate within Belgium offer peer counselling for new and established amputees in individual and group settings. (http://www.amptraide.eu/
• BMAB – German Peer Counselling Information. http://peers-im-krankenhaus.de/
